ITINERARY

DAY 1 CHRISTCHURCH CITY + LAKE TEKAPO + CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD

 

Meet and greet by tour guide upon arrive Christchurch Airport. Known as the Garden City, Christchurch is located on the east coast of the South Island and is the second largest city in New Zealand. Visit the Canterbury Museum, Avon River, and the Bridge Of Remembrance.

Stop to see the Church of the Good Shepherd beside Lake Tekapo. Aoraki Mt Cook and the Southern Alps are a spectacular sight on clear days at the far end of the lake. You can join a starlight star watching tour to explore the majestic skies over Lake Tekapo.

Enjoy a salmon sashimi dinner and stay overnight at a lakeside hotel in Tekapo. (Chinese lunch and salmon sashimi dinner included) 

DAY 2 MT COOK + ALPINE SALMON FARM + CROMWELL + KAWARAU BRIDGE BUNGY + QUEENSTOWN

 

Aoraki Mt Cook is the highest peak in Australasia at 3,754m (12,316 ft) and one of the most stunning aspects of the Southern Alps. We will stop at Mt Cook Village for approximately 1.5 hours.

After lunch, visit Mt Cook alpine salmon farm and taste the healthiest, firmest-fleshed, best eating king salmon in the world.

Depart for Queenstown by way of Cromwell, the fruit bowl of New Zealand and Kawarau Bridge Bungy, world home of Bungy Jumping. Arrive late afternoon in Queenstown, the Adventure Capital of New Zealand.

Stay overnight in Queenstown. (Breakfast, lunch and Chinese dinner included)

DAY 3 ARROWTOWN + TSS EARNSLAW + WALTER PEAK HIGH COUNTRY FARM/SKYLINE GONDOLA

 

Visit Arrowtown, a beautiful, former gold mining town, filled with a rich heritage, historic buildings and a quiet charm. There are many well preserved buildings used by European and Chinese immigrants dating from the gold mining days of the town.

You could enjoy a world famous as the ultimate jet boating experience, a unique, breathtaking ride through dramatic, narrow canyons.

Take the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw from Queenstown to Walter Peak High Country Farm. Following the 40 minute cruise from Queenstown, disembark at Walter Peak for a buffet dinner.

(Please note: The TSS Earnslaw will be on survey from May to July and will not be operating. Alternatively, you can take the Skyline Gondola and enjoy Chinese hotpot dinner.)

DAY 4 MILFORD SOUND + TE ANAU

 

Travel from Queenstown following the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu past the dramatic peaks of this mountain range, snow-capped in winter. Enjoy some of the most stunning scenery to be found anywhere in the world - towering snow-capped mountains, magnificent rainforests and spectacular waterfalls. Photograph stops along the way. Before descending into Milford Sound, travel through Homer Tunnel carved through the solid rock of a mountain.

Join your 1 hour 45 minute cruise taking you past Mitre Peak which rises from the ocean floor to its peak approximately 1.6 kilometres above sea level. View the spectacular Bowen waterfall cascading down its huge rock face. Look out for dolphins, seals and penguins that live in this wonderful location. Buffet lunch is included on the cruise.

Stay overnight in Te Anau. You could experience a mysterious underground world of rushing water before drifting in silent darkness beneath the luminous shimmer of thousands of glowworms in Te Anau.

DAY 5 DUNEDIN + BALDWIN STREET + MOERAKI BOULDERS + OAMARU + BLUE PENGUINS COLONY

 

Depart for Dunedin. The streets hum vibrantly with colour and culture. Dunedin is set amidst a gorgeous landscape, edged by the sea. Setting Dunedin apart from other cities in New Zealand are some of the finest examples of Victorian and Edwardian architecture in the Southern Hemisphere.

Visit University of Otago, St Paul's Cathedral, the Dunedin Town Hall, Dunedin Railway Station and Baldwin Street, which recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the steepest street in the world.

Enjoy the sceneries of the Moeraki Boulders, which are unusually large and spherical boulders lying along a stretch of Koekohe Beach on the wave-cut Otago coast of New Zealand between Moeraki and Hampden on the road.

In the evening, visit the Blue Penguins Colony and join the penguin parade tour. You are seated in an outdoor viewing grandstand where you listen to a commentary about our blue penguins. The birds return home from their days fishing, make their way onto the beach, up a stony ramp, and cross into the Colony.

DAY 6 OAMARU + CHRISTCHURCH

 

Travel up the east coast of the South Island which offers a unique combination of ocean and mountains to the “Garden City” Christchurch.

Transfer to the Airport and fly back home. (Breakfast and lunch included)
